Happy Winter Solstice & a message from Lucky Diaz
We hope you had a chance Monday evening to see the appearance of the ‘double planets’ as Jupiter and Saturn came close together in a rare occurrence. December 21st was the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, in what has been a most trying year for all.
As this year comes to an end, we want to celebrate the resilience of families who have found safe ways to gather and celebrate those traditions they hold dear. We can’t wait to welcome families back to the newly designed California Plaza and listen to our favorite performers.
We hope you contribute to our End of the Year Campaign to help make family performances happen. You can also choose to dedicate this donation as a holiday gift.
Watch Lucky Diaz’s message below. Lucky and his Family Jam Band has delighted children of all ages, from four to sixty-four (we all are young at heart).
Hola soy Lucky — and I’m Alicia — from the Lucky Band!
We’re so grateful for everything you all do for Grand Performances. We love it so much!
Muy agradecido. We’re so grateful that you give us all your support for a place for us as Angelenos to perform in the great city of Los Angeles.
We’re so thankful for the past and we’re really looking forward to the future together.
The future is bright. Nos vemos allí. Hasta la próxima.
Thank you all!
Gracias de nuevo.
We’re excited for what’s to come in the new year, as we continue our mission to inspire community, celebrate diversity, and unite Los Angeles through free access to global performing arts.
