NTS radio host, DJ and culture worker Miss Modular curates a womxn musicians playlist incorporating various genres and regions of Africa including: Somalia, Sudan, Algeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Nigeria and Mauritania.
“My program on NTS centers femme musical artists, DJs, and cultural producers, and I usually bring this perspective to my live sets, as well,” she explains. “This mix stems from a set I put together for the LA launch event of a film about Fela Kuti organized by Carhartt WIP, Dazed, and NTS. I wanted to put focus on a multi-genre exploration of African women artists spanning the continent, encompassing the richness of traditional and contemporary musical expression.”
